This Saturday, PVCC is leading a protest against Planned Parenthood, our nation’s largest provider of abortions. Ninety percent of pregnant women who walk into Planned Parenthood will ultimately get an abortion. Not only does Planned Parenthood murder children, but they sell their organs for profit. At their own admission, sometimes the baby is still alive when they procure the organs out of the helpless little body.
As we protest Planned Parenthood this Saturday, we will do so peacefully. We will hold signs and pray. Yet this protest will not simply include adults, there will be children there. My kids will be there, and I’ve encouraged other families at PVCC to consider bringing their children as well.
Here are 3 reasons I’ll be bringing my children to protest Planned Parenthood.
- So that my children can be a voice for their peers who have no voice. The children whose murder we will protest are children with whom my kids may have attended school. Perhaps they would have played little league baseball together. Maybe they would have been in a fraternity or sorority together someday; maybe they would have done business together. When my children hold those signs and pray, they are not simply going to pray for another “statistic” and financial profit for Planned Parenthood, they are praying for their own generation. They are praying for those whom could have been their best friends. They are going to be a voice for their peers who have no voice, because Planned Parenthood silences them before they ever make it out of their mother’s womb.
- I’m taking my kids to protest Planned Parenthood to teach them to be courageous leaders who will boldly take a stand for life in the decades to come. Over 40 years ago when Roe V. Wade was passed, far too many Christians passively stood on the sidelines as our nation legalized the murder of our own children. As the battle for life continues in the years to come, I want my children to be on the front lines. I want to teach them, in the words of Edmund Burke, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” We need to raise up and equip a new generation of young people who will not cower in the face of political correctness, but who will stand in the face of opposition and make their voices heard for the glory of God and the defense of His people. I pray this Saturday will plant seeds in my children’s hearts and minds that will lead them to someday be the first in line to stand up for the truth of God’s Word.
- I’m taking my kids to protest Planned Parenthood because I believe the Lord hears their prayers. In the Scriptures, Jesus is unimpressed with those who pray with eloquence and smooth speech (Matthew 6:5-8). Jesus listens to the prayers of the humble. He listens to those who have faith, even if it’s small. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:13-14). Jesus cares about what comes out of the “mouths of babes” (Matthew 21:16). Certainly He cares when out of their little mouths come prayers for other little ones – the little ones who have no voice. The little ones who are dying. The little ones to whom His Kingdom belongs (Mark 10:14).
